Crystal v4.12 - Release Date: Oct 21, 2026

This release makes discounting faster with transaction-level discounts and adds clearer accounting access, safer card payment voids, and new inventory reporting options.

🚀 New Features at a Glance

POS

  • Apply a Discount to an Entire Order. You can now apply a percent or total amount discount to all eligible items on a transaction at once, instead of discounting each line one at a time. Use the new Transaction Discount row in the Payment section of the sidebar, choose Percent or Amount, and apply. Items that already have a discount are skipped, and each item’s maximum discount and user manager approval rules still apply. If the order changes later, such as adding an item or changing a quantity, a dollar discount is automatically re-split across the eligible items.

🔧 Enhancements & Optimizations

Inventory

  • Clearer Transfer Sender and Receiver in Movement History. Movement History now splits transfers into Transfer Out and Transfer In, so you can see who sent an item and who received it without opening the transfer record. Transfer In shows “Pending” until the transfer is marked received.

  • Product Photos and Serial Numbers on Transfers. Transfer records can now show a product photo and serial number for each item, helping staff at both stores visually confirm what’s being shipped and received.

  • SKU Now Shown on Transfer Reports. Transfer reports now include a SKU for each item, so you can identify products without looking them up separately.

  • Min/Max Quantity Now Available on the Inventory Report. You can now add Min and Max Quantity to the Inventory Report, so you can review reorder points alongside on-hand quantity, quantity sold, and cost, broken out by location and SKU, in a single view.

  • Stock # and Product # Now Included in Inventory Case History Export. Exporting the History tab under Inventory Cases left out the Stock # and Product # columns. Now both columns are included in the exported file.

POS

  • Voiding a Transaction Now Voids Card Payments. Voiding a transaction with a card payment now voids the payment with the card processor first, and the transaction is only voided if that succeeds. If the payment has already been processed and can’t be voided, you’ll be prompted to process a refund instead. Voided payments stay on the transaction marked as voided for your records.

  • Correct Total for Discounted Items with Multiple Quantities. Transactions now show the correct total when a discount is applied to an item with multiple quantities. Temporarily, the totals were not always matching the item's extended price. The total is also correct for both percentage and dollar discounts, including when the quantity is changed after the discount.

  • Job Info Now Saves Automatically. Changes made on the Job Info tab of a Special Order or Repair transaction are now saved automatically, so your edits are no longer lost if you navigate away before saving.

  • Job Cost Stays Editable After Assigning Inventory to a Nonstock Item. The Job Cost field now stays visible and editable after inventory is assigned to a nonstock item. Click the line item on the POS tab to view or update the job cost. The Job Info tab shows the updated value. For line items with multiple quantities, the job cost applies to each unit.

Accounting

  • Date Range Filter for General Ledger Summary. You can now view the General Ledger summary for a specific date range by choosing a From and To date. The view updates to show that range, and you can export or print the data for the selected dates.

  • Choose How Sales Returns Post to the General Ledger. You can now choose how sales returns are recorded in accounting using the new General Ledger Sales Return Posting preference in Admin. Keep the current setting to post returns to your Sales Returns account, or choose to reverse the original sale so the return directly offsets it using the same accounts. Past transactions are not changed.

Who this is for: Accounting Users

Admin

  • Search and Select Users Within Time Clock. When running Time Clock reports, you can now search for users and select everyone at once, instead of picking each user one by one. Deactivated users are included in the list, so payroll stays accurate for former employees. Find it under Admin → Time Clock and in the Time Clock Report.

E-Commerce

  • Use Crystal SKU as the Shopify SKU. Clients can now send the Crystal SKU to the Shopify SKU field instead of the Crystal UUID. Turn on Use Crystal SKU as Shopify SKU under Ecommerce > Ecommerce Settings > Additional Settings. Existing products update on the next scheduled sync. The setting is off by default. The Shopify Barcode field still shows the Crystal Product #.
