In this GoDex Printer Driver Installation Guide, you will find the steps required to install the printer driver itself and get your printer configured for your device type. In this guide, we highlight the installation documentation and files that support both Windows and Mac operating systems.
Installing GoDex Printer Driver on Mac OS:
Navigate to the GoDex printer driver download webpage: https://www.godexintl.com/downloads?locale=en
Next to Download, select ‘By File Type’
Note: the selection is highlighted red once you have chosen the option you want.
Select ‘Driver’ from the ‘By File Type Menu’
Click to download the CUPS Printer Driver v1.1.6 _ (MacOS)
Note: You need to physically click the download icon
Open the Download from the Browser
Open the .pkg file once it downloads
Follow the setup wizard steps for the printer driver and once complete, your printer driver will be installed
User Note on using a Mac with the M1 chip (not the Intel chips), to print you will have to use the print command/shortcut of Command + Option + P to engage the tag print function.
Installing GoDex Printer Driver on Windows OS:
Navigate to the GoDex printer driver download webpage for Windows users: https://www.godexintl.com/product/RT700i_RT730i?locale=en
Under the Downloads section, click the download icon to start your printer driver download
Once the driver finishes downloading on the browser, open the download
Select the installation file to open the setup wizard
Follow the setup wizard steps for the printer driver and once complete, your printer driver will be installed
Configuring Print Size on Mac OS:
In the case that your tag print size is not available from the default paper size selector, follow these steps to add a custom size.
Open the advanced print dialog by pressing Command + Option + P from within an open browser window. If you would like, have a Crystal tag window open to test once completed.
Click the “Show Details” button.
Select the “Paper Size” dropdown.
Click the “Manage Custom Sizes…” option.
From the manage custom sizes dialog, add a new size by clicking the plus icon.
Name your custom size and set the properties within the dialog.
Click “OK” to save the changes.
When printing, you should now be able to select your custom print size. From the “Printers & Scanners” settings page you can select your custom print size as the default print size.
Configuring Print Sizes on PC:
In the case that your tag print size is not available from the default paper size selector, follow these steps to add a custom size.
Open the advanced print dialog by pressing Ctrl + P from within an open browser window. If you would like, have a Crystal tag window open to test once completed.
Click the “Print using the system dialog…” option.
Click the “Godex TR730i” printer.
Click “Preferences”.
On the “Page Setup” tab, view the “Stock” section and open the “Name” dropdown to view the available print tag options.
Click “New…” to create a new print size.
Name the print size and configure the “Label Size” appropriately.
Click “OK” to save the changes.
When printing, you should now be able to select your custom print size.
For Mac Users, use the following printer settings to set margins:
For TT306-N tag size:
Set print page size for 3.10 in width and 0.48 in height and no margins
On the printer:
Go to Label Settings
Set the Vertical Offset to +10
Set the TPH to -20
The first print may look wrong. Second print should correct.
For Windows you can set Vertical Offset to +0, the other configuration is the same.
